Drinking silver

Yesterday I had a routine check up with my holistic doctor who I’ve being seeing for almost a year now. He has become our family doctor and between the lot of us, has treated a wide range of illnesses holistically. Personally, I have now conquered a kidney infection and I am currently receiving treatments for endometriosis, so I am proof (not to mention the miracles within my family) that holistic treatments work.

On top of the usual prescriptions, he recommended that I take something I had never heard of or considered before: silver. It came in liquid form (pictured below) and I marveled as I received the bottle and was advised to drink one teaspoon, three times a day until empty.

Like many people, I am a novice to holistic treatments and lifestyle and I was very skeptical at first, so some of this stuff really blows me away. I never considered that pure silver or gold could be digested with any health benefits but apparently silver is a great immune booster, with many other great properties and has been a part of natural medicine for centuries.

I can't wait to see what it does, lucky I’m not a werewolf!

Right now I'm reading "New York" by Edward Rutherfurd and it's blowing my mind.  Every review is spot on, this book's a winner!  I would recommend it to anyone all over the world as this book accurately describes the history of New York City and America simultaneously, from settlement right through until the tragic events of 9/11; but without being boring. Rutherfurd has achieved this by weaving a fictional family together with factual occurrences, so the reader doesn't even realise the knowledge gained along the way!

Grog in the grocery store

Every now and then when shopping for groceries, I get lost in thoughts and then snap back suddenly when I come across the alcohol isle; it still strikes me as odd that grocery stores sell alcohol.

Until the 30th of January 2012, alcohol sales were prohibited across many American states on Sundays - the Lord's day - yet every state has always sold alcohol in grocery stores and discount department stores like Walmart and Target.  Americans love convenience!  And what's more convenient than grabbing a mid-range chardonnay with all of the ingredients to go with tonights' Alfredo pasta dinner in one place?

*side note: Australians' call alcohol "grog" among other things...
